In light of this story we feel it is necessary to better educate our current and future clients about the potential risks associated with undergoing surgery in a “Cosmetic Clinic” and discuss why our prices are so affordable.
CosMediTour offers $5,490 for a Standard Breast Augmentation on the Gold Coast… Sounds too good to be true – right?
An affordable Aussie Boob Job with Plastic Surgeons, performed under General Anaesthesia in an Accredited Hospital for just $5,490 definitely sounds too good to be true. But it is true! Only with CosMediTour, Australia’s largest Plastic Surgery agency.
CosMediTour Does Not Sacrifice Patient Safety for Affordability
Cosmetic surgery in Australia is a billion dollar unregulated industry. Due to this we have seen an increase of “Cosmetic Surgeons” performing surgical procedures such as a Breast Augmentation in converted Clinics, resulting in surgery becoming more accessible and affordable than ever. This has come with some greatly increased risks covered in the 60 Minutes segment above.
Since our launch in 2009 CosMediTour has never compromised patient safety in order to compete on price. We are able to offer competitive prices while still providing our patients the highest level of care possible including:
- Surgery performed by fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons
- Surgery performed under full General Anaesthesia
- Surgery performed at an ACHS-Accredited Private Hospital using fully qualified (FANZCA) Anaesthetist
- Highest quality Breast Implant brands such as Mentor or Motiva
CosMediTour Only Uses Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons
In Australia Doctors with minimal surgical training are also able to promote themselves as “Cosmetic Surgeons”. A doctor performing ‘Cosmetic Surgery’ simply requires a medical degree, followed by 1 year as a medical ‘Intern’ and then 1 or 2 years as a ‘Resident’ Medical Officer in a Hospital. They can then undergo a weekend workshop with a breast implant distributor – and start to perform Breast Augmentation surgery on patients. These are self-labelled “Cosmetic Surgeons”.
Our Surgeons at CosMediTour are all fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, moving from Plastic Reconstructive Surgery into obtaining more specialised Cosmetic and Aesthetic Surgery techniques. Each plastic surgeon has a minimum of 7 to 8 years of postgraduate training and assessments after qualifying with a medical degree, in addition to their 4-6 years of medical school.
All CosMediTour procedures on the Gold Coast are performed under the supervision of our Senior Plastic Surgeons Drs Luke Stradwick and/or Craig Layt. We use a number of different Plastic Surgeons (all hand-selected by our senior plastic surgeons), and patients will be assigned to a specific surgeon during your consultation and also depending on the date of your surgery. You can see more information here: Plastic Surgeons VS Cosmetic Surgeons
CosMediTour Surgeons Only Use General Anaesthesia for Surgery
All CosMediTour Breast Augmentation procedures in Australia and Thailand are performed under General Anaesthesia at a fully accredited hospital with a specialist Anaesthetist in attendance (who is a different specialist from the Surgeon) with the patient breathing through an Anaesthetic Ventilator. See more about Twilight Vs. General Anaesthesia.
CosMediTour Only Uses Fully Accredited Hospitals
Complications during surgery are very rare, however they can happen. By confirming that your surgery is performed in a Hospital rather than a ‘clinic’ you can gain some reassurance that if you encounter medical difficulties during surgery, you are in the safest possible environment surrounded by qualified specialists and the necessary equipment readily available to assist with your condition. See more information here: Why it’s Safer to Undergo Plastic Surgery in a Hospital Rather Than a Cosmetic Surgery Clinic
The team at CosMediTour places our clients safety and wellbeing as our top priority! We pride ourselves as having the highest Customer Care and will never compromise on quality which may have the potential to put our patients at risk.
